Thematic strands of ISCHE43 and Standing Working Groups

All submissions need to be directed to either one of the eight strands of the conference theme or to one of the Standing Working Groups. Standing working groups have limited sessions during the conference. Therefore, authors with submission for Standing Working Groups are advised to additionally select a second choice while referring to one of the thematic strands of the conference theme. This way their submission will be redirected during the reviewing process.

Conference languages

ISCHE strives for multilingualism and welcomes presentations and submissions in the five conference languages (English, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish). However, all authors who submit in other than English are requested to additionally submit an English language abstract which will be included in the book of abstracts.

The proposals could be submitted in any of the following formats:

  1. Individual papers: A paper submissions consists of a title (20 words max), an abstract (500 words max), keywords (up to five) and bibliography. Accepted papers will be allocated on parallel sessions with 15 minutes for the presentation of each paper. Panels featuring individual papers may consist of four papers.
  2. Workshops: A workshop submission consists of a title, an abstract of 500 words max, keywords and bibliography. Accepted workshops will be allocated on parallel sessions of 90 minutes.

While the general outline of the panel needs to be English, the papers in the panel can come in any of the 5 conference languages. Accepted panels will be allotted 90 minutes sessions and should feature 3-4 papers with time left for discussion. Panels are submitted by the panel chair who needs to collect all information beforehand.
  4. Symposia: consisting of two to four preformed panels with a minimum of three countries represented among the participants. The symposium must include a chair. If you submit a symposium, please chose “Symposium”. Also, clearly label your Symposium by adding Part 1/Part 2 to the title. Accepted symposia will have their panels scheduled across the conference dates in the order presented, though it may not be possible to have a symposium's panels scheduled in back-to-back sessions.

ISCHE encourages organizers of panels and symposia to respect diversity and to include early career researchers.
